I've been gone a long time! Life got crazy!
Got laid off. Something I'd been worrying about for quite some time. That week that I got laid off, though, was so crazy busy. End of the story, though, is I got a job! I really ended up having one unpaid day, so it really was crazy. I'm still having trouble believing I really got a job. I had actually interviewed at this place a couple months prior, so it worked out so perfectly that this is the place I wanted to be anyway.
So far, I'm not super busy, so I think that's one of the reasons I feel a little uneasy. I want to be needed and busy! That's how it goes though, I'm learning new programs and learning how things are done.
It all feels like a new beginning, so I'm really wanting to get everything in order right now. My work now is even closer to home than my last one. I could definitely walk if I wanted to. I plan on riding my bike as much as possible, though. I like to go home for lunch if I'm not doing anything else, so a quick bike ride is perfect. I love it.
I would like to get back on the ball with art projects, too. I started to at one point and then things got in the way. I think winter is a good time to do all that stuff, though.
Speaking of winter, I also picked up a nice little weekend job selling season passes for skiing. I get a free one, which is AWESOME. I found out in the middle of not knowing where my future money would be coming from, so was beyond excited when I got the news. We'll see how it goes having to work on weekends. My only concerns are a) missing K-State football games/watch parties if I have to work and b) hanging out with my pup, since we usually get to hang out more on weekends than weekdays. It will be awesome though. I get a free pass and get paid to do it, so a little extra dough is nice. It's not much, but it's something!
Besides that, I'm a little pumped for Fall. I think this happens every time Labor Day hits. We had a pretty short summer, but what can I say... I LOVE fall. I hope it sticks around for awhile.
